Updated Decemeber 10:

Snow clearing has begun in Area 1.

The city asks that all vehicles be moved so that the snow can be properly removed.

It's been a busy couple of days for snow removal crews in Weyburn.

The primary streets have been cleaned and they are continuing to work through the night. Residential cleaning will begin Friday, starting in Area 5.

It will likely take a few days to clear out the snow in residential areas. The city asks that street vehicles be moved so that the snow can be properly removed.

"We've been making very good progress, our city crews have been out working and have been working throughout the evenings and nights," Mayor Marcel Roy said.

"I have to compliment the residents also, they've been moving the cars as directed so that we can clear the streets, which is good to see."

Mayor Roy also noted that clearing the snow can cause some inconveniences for residents. Some of the sidewalks have been covered in piles of snow, forcing residents to walk on the road. Drivers should be particularly careful while driving, and keeping an eye out for pedestrians. Roy also noted that people should be extra cautious around school zones.

Pathways and walkways will be cleared according to the snow removal route.
