With hundreds coming into Weyburn this weekend for the biggest highschool reunion the city has ever seen, other parts of the city are getting into it as well.

Curator for the City of Weyburn Regan Lanning explained what she's done.

"I've geared all the art around the reunion ... so at the Signal Hill Gallery we have 'What's up Weyburn?' That is a two-floor show, the talent we have here is just overwhelming at times so the whole show takes up two full shows and it features all local Weyburn talent that is currently producing," Lanning said.

Lanning also has the Alley Griffin Gallery at the Library featuring "Way Back Weyburn" which depicts art from the City of Weyburn's permanent collection. This collection is made up of artists from Weyburn, images of Weyburn, or pieces from artists with ties to Weyburn.

Lanning also described an event thats being put on during the reunion.

"Up on Signal Hill we are having a giant art fair. It's called 'Doing it on the Hill.' There's gonna be around 20 local artists up there selling their wares. We have everything from photography to acryllics to water colours. It'll be absolutely fabulous," Lanning said.

One of these artists is Secretary for the Weyburn Arts Council Carol Reeve, and not only has she helped to set up the event but is also selling some of her own work in the art fair. She went into detail about some of the pieces she has on display.

"My particular artwork has quite a good range to it. The items that I've got up at signal hill this weekend are mostly landscape, smaller ones. They're done in acrylic paint but using more of an oil painting technique," Reeve said.
