No more waiting in lines to register for swimming lessons? Can it really be true?

It’s a Weyburn parent’s dream come true, and it’s one particularly exciting new feature made available through the City of Weyburn's 2018-19 Fall/Winter Leisure Services Guide.

“We’re going to start doing online registration for arts, aquatic and sports programming offered by the City of Weyburn,” said City Manager Matthew Warren.

He said that starting on September 5th, online registration will be available through a new site, https://app.bookking.ca/weyburnpub/. They’re asking people to pre-register so that the process can go more smoothly when online registration for various events or classes becomes available.

“We’re trying to remove the thing where you had to sit out front of the Leisure Centre for swimming registration or for aquatic programming,” said Warren. “Now you can be at home doing that instead of rushing with your families or yourself trying to wait out lines.”

All free events He noted that the programs offered in the guide aren’t just City of Weyburn events, but that other organizations’ events are included as well.

“We actually offer a lot of different programs through the city,” he said. “We also promote a lot of programs offered by other sport, culture and recreation community groups.”

“We offer them a free opportunity to put their information in,” said Warren. “We want as much information as we can for this guide. We want to promote what everyone does in this community. It’s not just what the City does, it’s what everyone offers.”

“We have a very active community and want to make sure people are aware of what’s going on,” he added.

Printed copies of the Guide will be made available September 1st at the Tom Zandee Sports Arena, Weyburn Leisure Centre and Signal Hill Arts Centre. Online guides can be found HERE.
