Highway 39 open after tanker fire

Highway 39 has been re-opened after it was closed due to a fuel truck fire roughly four kilometers northwest of Yellow Grass.

There is no word as to what caused the truck, which was carrying petroleum, to catch on fire. Witnesses who drove past prior to the highway being closed reported it had rolled. The Milestone RCMP, and Yellow Grass Fire Department, with assistance from the Weyburn Combined Traffic Services unit and Weyburn Fire Department, responded to the scene. There were no injuries and the fire was extinguished. The highway has now been re-opened, but the fire departments remain on scene clearing the scene.
