Gone but not forgotten...the Soo Line Historical Museum is highlighting a special Weyburn woman this week. The museum's artifact of the week is all about Isabelle Butters, who passed away June 30.

Butters many medals are on display, which she earned for contributing greatly to her community and to her country.

"Isabelle's sister came in and donated some stuff to us and so we thought it would be a good idea to display it," explained summer tour coordinator Brittany Kot.

Medals on display include Butter's Saskatchewan Order of Merit, her Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal, the Saskatchewan Centennial Medal, and the prestigious Order of Canada.

The donation also includes a portrait of Butters wearing the Order of Merit medal, which she was awarded in 1979. The medal is awarded to those who make extraordinary contributions to Canada and is the second-highest honour of merit in the country.

The artifact of the week will be on display until Sunday.
