In a long season of swimming and training, the hard work has paid off for 17 Weyburn youngsters who qualified for the Provincial meet after a strong showing over the weekend.

The Silver Seals swim club was in Assiniboia this past weekend for the qualifier semi-final meet. Three swimmers took home medals from the event, while 14 others booked their ticket to Provincials. The top six times in each event qualified for the meet next weekend.

Dylan Van Stavren won gold overall for boys in the 9/10 age category, while sisters Daisy and Lily Popescu won a bronze and silver medal, respectively in their age groups. The trio will join 14 of their teammates in Rosetown for the two-day Provincial meet on July 27 and 28.
