The Weyburn Beavers were idle Monday night, as there was just one game on the WCBL schedule. The Okotoks dawgs continued their trip through eastern Saskatchewan, starting off a three-game set in Yorkton.

The Dawgs would come out swinging and routed the struggling Cardinals 18-2.

With the win, the Dawgs came closer to clinching a playoff spot in the WCBL Western Division. They still have a magic number of three to secure their berth in the postseason, despite holding a commanding lead in the standings.

The Weyburn Beavers also have a magic number of three to clinch a playoff spot. They will look to reduce the number Tuesday night when they hit the road and travel to Moose Jaw for a match-up with the Miller Express.

There is just one team in the WCBL who has clinched a playoff spot. The Regina Red Sox punched their ticket on Sunday when they picked up a 4-2 win over the Fort McMurray Giants.

It will be a race to secure the top seed in the Eastern Division. The Beavers, Red Sox and Swift Current 57s all have a chance to finish the regular season in first place in the division. The Red Sox are currently two games up on Weyburn and Swift Current. With the three teams all playing each other at least once this week, it could shake things up as the WCBL enters the final stretch of the 2019 season.
