The Bantam AA Whitecap Wings were looking to bounce back from a rough weekend when they travelled up to Wilcox Tuesday night to take on the Notre Dame Hounds. The Wings, tied for fifth place in the SAAHL with Melville, were looking to move up the standings. The Hounds, meanwhile, were looking to snap an 11 game losing streak that dated back to November.

The Wings would be the ones who came out firing on all cylinders, picking up a 6-0 win over the Hounds.

The Wings opened the scoring on the international-size ice surface at the Duncan McNeil Arena with 6:20 to play in the first period, when Carter Skarbon scored. The goal was assisted by Blaze Gutzke. The lead was extended to 2-0 when Noel Englot found the back of the net with 1:52 to play in the period. Assisting the goal was Gutzke and Quinn Mantei.

In the second period, Weyburn opened the lead up with two late goals in the frame. The first, with just 2:21 on the clock, was from Kaden MacLean, assisted by Karter Haupstein and Wyatt LaCoste. The second goal came with 11 seconds remaining in the period. It was an unassisted goal from the stick of LaCoste.

In the third period, it would again take a bot of time for the Wings to get things going, before rattling off two goals late in the period. The first came with 6:15 on the clock, as Mantei scored an unassisted goal. The second, with just 27 seconds to go, was scored by Gutzke. The Gutzke goal was assisted by Andon Hoff and Englot.

In net, Adam Charlton made 14 saves for the shutout. At the other end, Notre Dame netminder Ivan Kruger faced 51 shots, stopping 45 of them.

The Bantam AA Wings are now in sole possession of fifth place in the South Division of the SAAHL. They are one point back of the Yorkton Terriers for fourth.

The next league game for the Wings will be next Thursday when they take on the Monarchs in Regina.
