Friends for Life is held at the Weyburn Public Library in conjunction with Child and Youth Services. It is about preventing childhood anxiety and building emotional resiliency. The program provides life long tools for children to use in managing their feelings and enhancing social skills.

This program will run for 10 weeks. There is no cost, but registration is required.

Children ages 7-10

Erin, the Adult Programmer from the Weyburn Public Library, visits the senior and care homes in Weyburn.  Books, cd's and audiocassettes are available for delivery.

The Catholic Women's League - St Vincent de Paul Council - invites everyone to come to our annual Sunday Brunch and Bake Sale at McKenna Auditorium, 312 3rd Street, Weyburn.  Enjoy a great traditional brunch and take in the terrific homemade baking prepared by our members and our partners. 

It's a freewill offering for the brunch, and the baking is more than reasonable.  Plus we have an excellent variety of prizes available in our one-day raffle.

Open to the general public.  Come grab a bit of spring after this long winter.  Mother's Day is the next weekend - Get your baking for that day at this event.

Doors open at 10:00 am until 1:00 pm.

The Survivor Brain Injury Support Group is a social group for people who have survived an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). Our goal is to provide Education about ABI, share experiences, and to provide understanding and assurance that those living with an acquired brain injury are not alone.

Guest Presentation - May 8th, from 1pm - 3:pm, David Jones will be doing a full presentation on the impact of Gambling. (Tea and Danties to be served after)

Consumer Art Gala - May 9th, from 7pm - 9pm, CMHA Weyburn consumers will be on site, they will have many pieces of Art displayed and for Sale.

Join us on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Assiniboia Park Elementary School to help raise awareness and funds for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.  All donations go to Jesse's Journey, a registered Canadian charity that funds research for this condition.  There are 4 local boys with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.  Please help us find a cure!

Join our Bake-off Bake Sale. All baking and goodies will be a donation to sell in the bake sale, as proceeds go to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.  $5.00 entry to compete in the bake-off. On May 16, 2013, the Canadian Red Cross marks National Lifejacket Day, an annual campaign to encourage and promote the use of lifejackets and PFDs among boaters.

For many Canadians, the summer season means enjoying outdoor activities such as fishing, powerboating or canoeing. But each year, tragic and avoidable boating-related fatalities occur across Canada. A study of the long-term trends indicates that the use of proper safety equipment such as a lifejacket or personal flotation device (PFD) would greatly reduce this number.

Every year, 166 Canadians drown while boating. Of these, 88 per cent are not wearing a lifejacket or do not have it properly secured.

The Young Fellos Spray Park is now OPEN for the season!

Located between 12th and 14th Streets on Coteau Avenue, the spray park features hand sensors to turn on water.  It houses dump buckets, a rainbow or colors that spray, canon sprayers and numerous geysers.  The water will not turn on past 9:00pm.

The newest hotel to come to Weyburn will be holding a ground breaking ceremony at 88 Grace Street (located behind the Tim Horton's off of Hwy. 39) at 3:30 PM. Come and take a look at the modern design planned and snap some photos with local dignataries and members of the Microtel Inn and Suites by Wyndham.

Water Safety Instructor is the next step after Assistant Water Safety Instructor Course.  With the completion of this course and 12 practice teaching hours you are able to instruct swimming lessons.  Instructor candidates focus on how to apply information from the Assistant Water Safety Instructor Course and develop additional instructional skills, stroke development, drills and corrective strategies to plan, teach and evaluate the entire Red Cross Swim continuum.

Saturday May 25th from 1pm to 4pm there will be a 15km walk being held on highway 35 north of Weyburn. The walk will end at the parking lot of Queen Elizabeth school. The goal of this walk to to raise awareness about depression and raise funds to support our community mental health programs. To donate or register to walk please visit defeatdepression.ca.
