The friends of the Canadian Wheat Board are saying a federal judge did not understand the impact of changes to the Canadian Wheat Board voters list prior to the 2008 director elections.

The FCWB have appealed Justice James Russell's decision to dismiss their case. Spokesperson Stewart Wells explains why they feel they still have an argument. He says, "on close reading of Justice Russell's written judgement it's clear to us that he still didn't really understand the Canadian Wheat Board permit book system and the rights and responsibilities and eligibility to vote that goes along with that permit book."

He says the only way they could re-open the issue was to launch an appeal. They say requirements implemented by Federal Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz eliminated thousands of legitimate farmers from the voters list for the 2008 director elections.
