The U18 AA John Hulbert Construction Wings have won three in a row, after picking up their most recent victory Friday night. They entertained the Notre Dame Argos at Crescent Point Place, and handily skated to a 7-2 victory.

The Wings were again led by Ryker Watt, who scored a hat trick for the second game in a row. He now has 46 points on the season.

Watt started off the scoring for Weyburn just 2:50 into the first period when he found the twine in the Argos net. He was assisted on the goal by Cooper Walbaum and Ty Boren.

Neither team would score through the rest of the first period, but then the Wings started to open things up in the second period.

The scoring in the frame started when Boren scored a goal of his own, while the team was shorthanded, 4:17 into the period. His goal was assisted by Walbaum and Karter Haupstein. Then, Silas Stein scored an unassisted goal at the 8:03 mark to make it 3-0. Weyburn would make it 4-0 before the period was ten minutes old when Noah Kopec tallied with 10:44 on the clock. He was assisted by Watt and Memphis Walter.

The game began to get rather chippy in the second period, as well. The two teams combined for eight minor penalties in that frame, and even more in the third. In all, the two teams had a total of 42 penalty minutes on 21 minors. This included a four-minute double minor to Wings goaltender Adam Charlton in the third period.

The final period also saw Watt bookend the scoring, with a goal 1:58 in, and then another with 2:08 to play. The first goal was assisted by Boren and Walbaum, while the second goal of the period, and third of the game for Watt, was assisted by Walter. The goal was also scored on the power play.

In between the two goals from Watt, the Argos managed to break the shutout bid of Charlton. Matt O’Toole scored on the power play at the 3:26 mark of the frame. Boren would reply for the Wings 18 seconds later, assisted by Walbaum, then Thomas Curri scored for the Argos at the 4:16 mark to make it a 6-2 game.

The Wings will be back in action Saturday night, again at Crescent Point Place. They will look to win their fourth in a row as the Lumsden/Bethune Lions come to town. The puck drops on the game at 7:30 p.m.
