Agrocorp processing is moving their Canadian headquarters to Moose Jaw from Vancouver.

Premier Brad Wall made the announcement Monday, along with several members of Agrocorp's Executive team, who say the relocation will begin early next year, bringing an additional 20 new jobs to the friendly city over the next 3 years.

Wall says the province's new growth tax incentive program, which encourages corporations to move operations to Saskatchewan, was a difference-maker in the Agrocorp decision.

“If you bring employees here then we know they’ll bring income tax revenue to the province that wasn’t here before. That can be partially offset with a credit on corporate income tax for example,” he said.

Colin Topham is Managing Director of Agrocorp Canada, and explained why they came to Moose Jaw in the first place.

“We worked very closely with CN Rail to identify a location in Canada that had good rail car accessibility, good highway accessibility, and a good grower base for pulse crops. Moose Jaw aligned on all those fronts,” he said.

The Singapore-based Agrocorp opened a plant in Moose Jaw 2013, and says the new office will be built on the same site, just north of Caribou Street east near the Trans-Canada highway.
